Lot 5537

Full Lot Description

Tan-Sad very rare British made Pedal Car circa 1935 - an unusual car constructed from wood with metal fittings, produced by the Tan-Sad company who were more famous for the range of office furniture, and the car is similar to the contemporary Lines Bros (Triang) Contemporary Cars. The pedal car is constructed with plywood sides and rear boot, steel top to the bonnet, and comes with many original metal fittings including cycle type mudguards, side lamps, headlamps, number plate, double front bumper, opening side door, side step, tax disc and when new the car was wired for electric headlamps and horn, starting handle, radiator cap, folding windscreen together with steering wheel, pedals and running gear. The metal parts have rusted and the woodwork has suffered due to storage. Fitted with spoked wheels and 4 x solid rubber tyres, the car is a Fair basis for restoration and is well worth doing, 51"/130cm long.
